Accommodation and meals
All booked and confirmed accommodation and meals are on full-board basis. All late arrivals after 1800hrs will be based on bed and breakfast basis. Booked accommodation for extended stay in the city of Nairobi will be paid for directly by our visitors. At the last day of your safari, we will provide either farewell lunch or farewell dinner or both and dayrooms available till 6pm.
We will provide complimentary bottled mineral water inside vehicles throughout the safari. We provide only soft drinks of bottled soda or fruit juices and water during meals and for selected safaris, we provide alcoholic drinks of local beer per bottle and house wines per glass during meals.
Extra luggage not needed on safari will be stored at the city hotel at no cost. Make sure you obtain and safe keep the deposit chit for your claim at the end of your safari. For domestic flights, any excess baggage charges will be paid by the guest and loss or damage to it is not the responsibility of Uzuri Africa- the African Splendour safaris.
Small intimate groups
Our groups are small and intimate. Groups are as small as 2 guests to an average of between 7 and 14 guests. We believe and operate small groups as this guarantees personalized services, a measure of privacy and affords you the maximum attention and ear of your safari guide.
We provide arrival and departure transfers at no extra cost.
Your safari guide will give safari briefings and de-briefings, and relevant theme presentations throughout your safari.
Visit a local community
A visit to a traditional Kalenjin or Maasai village is of immense value and experience. Purely at your own will, you may choose to make a contribution in support of a community project. Such as a health facility or a school. Some of our safaris do not include these visits. In this case, your safari/driver guide will be happy to guide you on this during your safari. You can also book a visit to a local community at the time of confirming your safari..
Safari by road
Safari vehicles compromise in comfort as they are modified 4 wheel land cruisers or the standard 2 or 4 wheel vans depending on the cost of your choice safari. In all situations, we guarantee a window-seat for each client based on a maximum of 7 passengers per vehicle.
Shopping for souvenirs
East Africa is known for its art products like weaved baskets and cloth, batiks, paintings, masks and other wood carvings and of course fresh Kenyan coffee and Tea. Sample them at the gift shops in the city, at the camp gift shop, Curio-shops along the main highways, or even in the tribal village. Remember it is culture here to bargain and you can pay either in local or foreign currency in cash or selected credit cards as advised by your tour guide.
Authentic sundowner cocktails, bush breakfast or bush dinner and ‘occasion celebrations’
If not included in your safari, at an extra cost we can book bush breakfast, bush dinner, sundowner cocktails, and anniversary cake and party celebrations.
We provide meet & greet services on arrival at the airport in Kenya. We also facilitate smooth check-in and check-out of city hotels. And at the lodges and camps, your safari guide will perform all the-behind-the scene actions to ensure that your check-in, your stay and comfort is assured. All our departures receive a full safari briefing and post-tour air tickets will be re-confirmed. Our concierge staff will be happy make a photo copy of your on-ward air ticket or reconfirmation before the start of your safari.

Our Tipping policy
Tipping as a gesture of appreciation, is customary in Kenya. Tips to your safari guide, the hotel staff and any other service providers will be at your discretion and should not be paid under duress. We recommend between 10-12 dollars for your guides per person per day and between 2-5 dollars for hotel staff (room steward and waiting staff) per person per service/day. For the bar attendant, any loose change will suffice.
