5 Nights/ 6 days Classic Kenya Road Safari

Day 1. Arrival

Transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Sentrim Boulevard Hotel (or similar). After check in, time will be at leisure followed by dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2. Mount Kenya.

Depart early and drive north east through expansive farmlands of tea, coffee and pineapple to the slopes of mount Kenya to arrive at the Serena Sweetwaters Tented Camp in the private Ol Pejeta Wildlife sanctuary. Then settle in to your fabulous tents follwed by lunch. After lunch, time will be at leisure.

Then depart on a game tracking drive in the Sanctuary. This is home to the Black and White rhino, among abundant wildlife including the lion, cheetah, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and elephant. Visit the Jane Goodall chimpanzee sanctuary inside this preserve during their feeding time.

Day 3. The Rift Valley.

Have an early breakfast and depart crossing the Rift Valley’s Aberdare ranges. Have a brief stop at the magnificent Thompson’s falls in Nyahururu. Continue descending to the rift valley floor to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.

Afternoon game viewing drive to explore this birders’ paradise with over 400 bird species recorded. A big colony of the greater and lesser flamingo during their seasonal visit, cormorants and pelicans decorate the shoreline of Lake Nakuru. This park has a big population of both black and white rhino and was the first Rhino sanctuary in Kenya to be established in 1984. It also holds a sizeable population of the near endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.

Day 4. Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Depart early in the morning to drive through the scenic African Rift valley floor crossing its western steep escarpment reaching the undulating and finally the Maasai Mara savannah plains in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive to explore this world famous park considered the most spectacular wildlife viewing area in Africa.

Maasai mara is the 8th wonder of the world as a result of the wildebeest migration; being the pathway of this annual event from mid July to the end of October when over 2 million herbivores escorted by carnivores cross north from the Serengeti in Tanzania. This Mara has been highlighted through various media including ‘national geographic’, ‘big-cat diary’ among many and more recently by American ABC news ‘good morning America show’.

All meals and overnight at Mara Sentrim Camp or similar.


Day 5. Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Enjoy an adventurous full day in the Mara in search of the famed ‘big-five’; black rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant with 2 game viewing drives. Alternatively, you can choose to do a full day game viewing drive with picnic lunch and evening at leisure. Today is also providing you with an opportunity to do hot air balloon and a visit to the Maasai cultural village.

All meals and overnight at Mara Sentrim Camp or similar.

Optional early morning game viewing drive. Depart after breakfast for Nairobi to arrive afternoon in time for your farewell lunch.


Day 6. Departure.

Optional early morning game viewing drive. Depart after breakfast for Nairobi to arrive afternoon in time for your farewell lunch at Eka Hotel or similar.
